The midnight Club Cast
Iman Benson as Ilonka
In ‘The Midnight Club Season 1′ Iman Benson’s character raises her glass to toast her companions’ drinks.
Iman Benson is a wellknown American actress who played Tia Russell in the television comedy series Uncle Buck. She also appeared in Alexa & Katie and was the lead in #blackAF. Benson will play Ilonka, the series’ protagonist. She discovers Brightcliffe after finding she has thyroid cancer and becomes the hospice’s newest patient, seeking to find an unconventional cure.
Igby Rigney as Kevin
As seen in the teaser, Igby Rigney will play a Brightcliffe patient who first interacts with Ilonka after she moves into the hospice. He claims to have been residing there for about 4 months prior to her arrival and that he has Leukemia. Rigney previously appeared in Midnight Mass, marking his second collaboration with Mike Flanagan. In addition, he will star in Flanagan’s upcoming series The Fall of the House of Usher.
Annarah Cymone as Sandra
Annarah Cymone made her acting debut in Flanagan’s Midnight Mass, having previously only appeared in a 2021 drama called Caged. She will play Sarah, a devoutly religious Brightcliffe patient who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her character is the most hesitant to try some of the healing practises Ilonka suggests.
Natsuki – Aya Furukawa
Aya Furukawa is a bilingual Canadian actress who speaks English and Japanese fluently. Her debut part was as a Japanese schoolgirl in the 2011 film Cabin in the Woods. She had a brief hiatus from performing till her recent appearance in Brand New Cherry Flavor. Natsuki is the name of the character she will be portraying. Natsuki’s character suffers from depression and attempted suicide only two months before being diagnosed with terminal cancer. As a Brightcliffe patient, she discovers a new zest for life through her friendships and ties with other patients.
Cheri – Adia
Adia will make her acting debut in this series. Cheri, one of Brightcliffe’s more mysterious patients, is played by her. During one scenario, she reveals that she has been in Brightcliffe for three months at the time of Ilonka’s arrival. Her character has a sarcastic sense of humour, as she says, “This is a hospice?” My parents informed me that this was a boarding school…” However, we find early on that she has a habit of lying about herself and her life before to coming to Brightcliffe.
Anya – Ruth Codd
Ruth Codd will play Anya, a fierce and sarcastic character. She is featured in the trailer, wheelchair-bound and looking the sickest of the bunch, likely foreshadowing the series’ first death. She will appear in Flanagan’s forthcoming performance, The Fall of the House of Usher, alongside Igby Rigney.
Sapkota, Sauriyan – Amesh
Sauriyan Sapkota’s acting debut will be in The Midnight Club, followed by a role in The Fall of the House of Usher starring Ruth Codd and Igby Rigney. Sapkota plays Amesh, who can be seen in the trailer counting out how long he has been staying at Brightcliffe, clearly not enjoying his stay. He was the hospital’s newest patient before Ilonka arrived. Later in the trailer, he is shown kissing Aya Furukawa’s character, Natsuki.
Spencer, William Chris Sumpter
Spencer, the final member of The Midnight Club, is played by William Chris Sumpter. He is an openly gay character who has been diagnosed with AIDS. Dr. Stanton tasks him with giving Ilonka a tour of Brightcliffe. He can be seen in the teaser when he and Amesh tease Ilonka about riding the elevator down to the basement. Sumpter has a musical background in addition to acting, having started his career in the Broadway musical Matilda. He was also recently seen as a teen Theo in NYC Dreams.
Heather Langenkamp as Dr. Stanton
Heather Langenkamp is a horror film veteran, having made her “big-scream” debut as Nancy Thompson in The Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. Langenkamp will play Dr. Stanton, the physician in charge of all Brightcliffe patients. In the trailer, she is seen welcoming Iman Benson’s character and her adoptive father, Tim. Langenkamp is drawn to this part because she recently lost her son to cancer. When Dr. Stanton first meets Ilonka and Tim, she also offers this knowledge about her character.
Tim – Matt Biedel
Ilonka’s adoptive father will be played by Matt Biedel. Although he disagrees with Ilonka’s decision to spend her final days at Brightcliffe, he remains sympathetic. He can be seen at the opening of the trailer telling her to rejoice about her acceptance to Stanford, and afterwards beside her hospital bed. He also played Sturge, the island’s handyman, in Midnight Mass. In addition to his work with Flanagan, he appeared in The Umbrella Academy and Altered Carbon.
Shasta, Samantha Sloyan
Samantha Sloyan previously collaborated with Mike Flanagan on his 2016 film Hush. She also played the villainous Bev Keane in Flanagan’s limited series Midnight Mass. She is portraying Shasta, a woman Ilonka meets in the woods near Brightcliffe. She is also perhaps portrayed as a younger woman in the centre of an old photo of a group of former Brightcliffe patients, implying that she is a previous patient herself. It’s indicated she knows more about the weird incidents at Brightcliffe than she lets on.
Mark – Zach Gilford
Zach Gilford is best known for his role in the television series Friday Night Lights as Matt Saracen. He most recently appeared as Shane in The Purge: Anarchy, as well as Riley in Midnight Mass, with Samantha Sloyen. He portrays Mark, one of the Brightcliffe nurses.
