The first group of mystery celebrities do their footwork for the judging panel during the first half of the 90-minute show while they try to determine who is wearing each costume based on the given clues.

The studio audience will be invited to vote for their favourites after each performer, with the most popular contestant moving on.

However, the judges will have to choose between saving and eliminating the two contestants who received the fewest votes.

The performer who has been eliminated will next take off their mask and reveal their identity, at which point the panel will learn if any of their predictions were accurate.

On Saturday, September 10, the second group of celebrities will make their dancing debut.

If you missed the show on Saturday night, it will be broadcast again on ITV from 11.25am on Sunday, or you can watch it on the ITV Hub.

The Masked Dancer UK 2022 Judge

Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall, two of the Masked Singer’s regular judges, are on the Masked Dancer UK jury.

Oti Mabuse, who served on the judging panel for the show’s first season, is also returning as a judge. Season two also welcomes Peter Crouch, who will fill in for Mo Gilligan.

The comedian left the series owing to business commitments in the US, and the ex-footballer is filling his seat on the panel.

Peter gushed, “The show is a strong favourite in our home, so when asked I leaped at the chance to take part.”

  • Pillar and Post
  • Pig
  • Candlestick

Contestants of The Masked Dancer 2022

ITV has lined up 12 contestants in outrageous costumes for the upbeat sequel to The Masked Singer.

In the second instalment of the star-spangled guessing game, a pair will compete in a brand-new twist.

The renowned people hiding behind each mask will be vying to emulate Louis Smith, an Olympic gymnast who won the first season of Masked Dancer.

We present the eccentric contestants and make assumptions about who they could be…

Pillar and Post

Pillar and Post, the first-ever double act on the show, will undoubtedly put in a First Class performance.

The former couple from Strictly Come Dancing, Aljaz Korjanec and Janette Manrara, would compete.

Pig

When giving away hints regarding their identity, this candidate best not give any false information.

Jimmy Doherty or Kaleb Cooper from Clarkson’s Farm, two television farmers, might be seen strutting while wearing the pig costume.

Candlestick

For the benefit of the studio audience, let’s hope disco inferno doesn’t “burn baby burn.”

Jason Orange from Relight My Fire or Fred Sirieix from First Dates, the maître d’ of fine dining, might be within the Candlestick.

Onomatopoeia

Bright personality words that are connected to sounds are what onomatopoeia is all about.

It might be a wordsmith from television like Susie Dent from Countdown or a musician like MNEK who wants to create a buzz.

Tomato Sauce

They’ll be hoping to paint the dance floor crimson, the saucy sauce pot says.

There must be a television chef concealed there, like Michela Chiappa from This Morning or Lisa Faulkner from MasterChef.

Cactus

Cactus is a skinny, green dancing machine that is trying to pickle your fancy.

The Ninja Warrior host and charity runner Ben Shephard is suggested by the superhero cape and wrestler-style uniform.

Prawn Cocktail

Many 1980s dinner parties began with shrimp cocktails.

Maybe there are stars from that era hiding under the shell, like Keren Woodward from Bananarama or Toyah Willcox.

Odd Socks

It’s best that this untidy character doesn’t have two left feet.

Someone associated with fashion, such as Susannah Constantine from What Not To Wear or Mark Heyes from Lorraine, could be Odd Socks.

Pearly King

Time your step and lift your knees. Football star Ray Parlour, a renowned Cockney from England, is an expert in footwork.

But whoever is hiding behind the Pearly King suit will want to succeed in a big way.

Scissors

Scissors will be cutting their own forms on stage in a bid to be proclaimed the winner.

Someone like Sara Pascoe, host of The Great British Sewing Bee, is built for a costume like this.

Sea Slug

This vibrant marine creature makes its way onto the stage by slithering and slurping.

In this aquatic Sea Slug disguise, a Team GB swimmer like Freya Anderson could feel comfortable.

Astronaut

If this moonwalker fails to complete the MoonWalk, we will all be disappointed.

Could there be a famous person who pioneered anything inside Astronaut, like Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose Ayling-Ellis?
