The audience sees you, the judges cannot; but when you start singing and silence befalls the hall, it’s your voice that mandates the judges to turn. The Voice has been one of the most prominent singing reality shows to ever grace the television industry.

Origin of The Voice Reality Show
In December 2010, an adaptation of the Dutch show ‘The Voice of Holland’ was introduced to America under the name of ‘The Voice,’ as the ‘Voice of America’ was in use by the U.S. government for its overseas radio service. The show has aired for twenty-one seasons, with season twenty-two on its way.
Since the first season, the artist’s performances are critiqued by a panel of four coaches, who then lead their teams of selected artists through the rest of the season. They also compete to guarantee that their act takes first place in the competition, earning them the winning coach.
Television viewers vote through phone, internet, SMS text, and iTunes Store sales of the audio-recorded artists’ performances to elect the winner. For winning the competition, they receive $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
The winner of each season wins $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic Records (Seasons 1-2) or Universal Music Group (Seasons 3-present).

The Voice 2023 Audition Process
The process begins with “blind auditions,” where the judges sit with their backs turned away from the stage. The judges, if interested in an artist, press a button placed in front of them that illuminates “I want you” at the bottom of the chair.
If more than one coach indicates an interest in the artist, then the latter has the opportunity to elect their coach. In season 14, a new element was introduced, called the “Block”, which enables one coach to prevent another from obtaining a contender.
This is followed by “Battle Rounds”, where each coach chooses a pair of contestants from their own team to contest against each other, with only one advancing to the next round. From hereon, celebrity coaches assist the judges in preparing the performers.
A new element was incorporated in season three, where the coaches were given an opportunity to “steal”, which allowed each coach to choose two people who were eliminated by another coach during the battle round.
This is followed by the Knockout Rounds, which was introduced in season three. A team of artists is chosen to sing in individual performances, one after the other. They do not know who they will perform with. During this round, the artists are free to choose their own songs.
While they continue to get assistance and coaching from the judges and assist as well. Coaches would pick which of each duo would proceed to the next round when the performances were completed.
Ultimately, as we move closer to the end of the competition, in the final live performance phase of the competition, artists perform in weekly shows, where public voting plays a crucial role in narrowing down the final contestants. The coaches have the ability to save one artist who did not obtain a vote from the public that week. In the finale, with just one team member remaining from each team, the participants compete against each other, with the winner being determined purely by popular vote.
