Hailey Bieber swore for the Rhode skincare trademark violation
Purna Khtau and Phoebe Vickers, brand founders, filed a lawsuit against Hailey Bieber at the U.S. District Court for Southern District of New York Tuesday, June 21.
Khatau claims Vickers, herhusband, founded the company May 2013, and that they have “dedicated themselves” to the Rhode brand growth and development through personal struggles.
The brand is now considered an established brand, sold in high-end stores including Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, and worn by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Mindy Kaling.

Hailey Bieber launched the Rhode skincare line earlier in the month. Vickers and Khatau both claim that they noticed market confusion immediately thereafter, which was already hurting their brand.
“Nine years ago we quit our jobs to start Rhode. It was just outside our home. This turned into a fashion business. In a statement posted on Instagram, he stated that the company owned it.
